The bedtime fidget
Reach for something smooth, quiet and slow — a worry waffle or a linkloop chain you can run through your fingers in the dark, with no lights and barely a sound.

A quiet, screen-free way to calm a racing mind and ease into sleep.
You are finally in bed — and your mind picks that exact moment to replay the whole day. For a lot of us, the reflex is to grab the phone, which only makes falling asleep harder. A quiet, tactile fidget offers a gentler alternative: something calming to do with your hands that does not light up your brain.
To be clear, a fidget toy is not a cure for insomnia. But as part of a calm wind-down routine, plenty of people find it genuinely helps them switch off.
How a fidget helps you wind down
- It replaces the scroll — a screen-free outlet for restless hands, with no blue light and no notifications to pull you back in.
- It slows a racing mind — gentle, repetitive movement is self-soothing and gives anxious thoughts something quieter to land on.
- It becomes a sleep cue — do it every night and your brain starts to read "fidget time" as "wind-down time".
- It works in the dark — the best bedtime fidgets need no light and make little sound.

- 1Phone down, out of reach. Put it across the room so the scroll is not an option.
- 2Dim the lights. Give your body the signal that the day is done.
- 3Fidget slowly for a few minutes. Match the movement to slow breathing — in for four, out for four.
- 4Keep it by the bed. If you wake in the night, reach for the fidget instead of the phone.
If sleep is a real struggle
If you regularly cannot sleep, it is worth speaking to your GP — a fidget is a helpful comfort, not a substitute for proper support. For a racing, anxious mind more generally, our anxiety guide and our piece on how fidgeting reduces anxiety go deeper.
Calm you can hold
Our fidgets are 3D-printed in the UK from plant-based PLA plastic — smooth, quiet and warm to the touch — and we are putting our toys through UKCA self-certification against the UK toy safety standard (BS EN 71). A little everyday satisfaction to end the day on.
