Christmas Fidget Gifts and Stocking Fillers

Small Christmas gifts that get played with on Boxing Day and long after, sorted by who you're buying for.

A spread of colourful fidget toys

The short answer

Fidgets make good stocking fillers because they're small and they last well past Christmas Day. Clickers and flexi animals go down well with children, and quieter desk fidgets suit adults. A multipack or mixed box is the safe choice when you don't know their favourite. Order early, because the post gets busy in December, and keep them for ages three and up.

Fidget stocking fillers for kids

Children are the easiest people to buy a fidget for. They don't need it explained, and the one in the stocking is often the thing still in their hand at lunchtime.

  • Clickers are usually the hit. They click, so expect to hear them all through the Christmas film.
  • Flexi animals bend and wiggle and tend to get a name by the end of the day.
  • Spinners are good for the child who likes to see how long they can keep something going.

Our toys contain small parts and are not suitable for children under 36 months. If there's a baby or toddler in the house on Christmas morning, keep their stocking separate and tell older children to keep their fidgets up off the floor.

Christmas gifts for teenagers who fidget

Teenagers are harder. Anything that looks too young gets an eye roll, so go for fidgets that look tidy and grown-up, in plainer colours.

Think about where they'll use it. A teenager who wants something for lessons or revision needs one that won't get them told off, so a silent or soft fidget is a better bet than a clicker. One for gaming or the bus home can be as noisy as they like.

We've written a whole guide to fidget toys for teenagers if you'd like more ideas.

Fidget gifts for adults

Plenty of adults fiddle with a pen at their desk or spin their phone on the table, and would never think to buy themselves a fidget. That makes it a nice surprise in a grown-up stocking.

For someone who works in an office or spends the day on calls, pick something quiet. A smooth worry-stone style fidget makes no sound, and an infinity cube or a linkloop chain gives restless hands plenty to do. Our fidgets for adults collection is a good place to start, and the noise levels page explains how loud each kind is.

What to get someone who is impossible to buy for

Everyone has one. The person who says they want nothing, already owns everything and returns half of what they're given.

A fidget gets round that. It's small enough not to feel like clutter, and most people don't own one yet. It also gives them something to do with their hands while everyone else is opening presents, which the "I don't want anything" types often secretly appreciate.

Ours are 3D-printed by us in Kent from PLA, a plant-based polymer, in small batches topped up as they sell.

Secret Santa and Christmas Eve box ideas

For an office Secret Santa you usually don't know the person, and the gift has to work for anyone. We've written a separate guide to Secret Santa gifts under £10 with that in mind, including which kinds to avoid in an open-plan office.

Christmas Eve boxes are a different job. They're about winding down before the big day, so a fidget sits nicely next to new pyjamas and a book. Choose one that's fun but not too noisy if it's going to bed with them. The same age rule applies: nothing with small parts for under-threes.

What if you don't know which fidget they like?

It's a fair worry. People fidget in different ways, and the clicker one person loves will drive the next person mad.

  1. Go for a multipack. A trio of different kinds lets them find out which one suits them, and works out cheaper per toy.
  2. Try a kit or a mixed box. These put several kinds together, so there's a good chance at least one becomes a favourite.
  3. Use our quiz. If you know a bit about how they fidget, the fidget quiz narrows it down in a minute or two.
  4. Give a gift card. A gift card lets them choose. We email the code, which makes it handy for a last-minute card too.

For smaller budgets, our guide to fidget toys under £10 and the gifts under £10 collection are the places to look.

When should I order fidgets for Christmas?

Earlier than you'd think. Most orders are dispatched within 1 working day, but the post gets busy in December. Our delivery page has the current times, and it's worth checking before you leave anything late.

Each toy carries the UKCA mark and is made to the UK toy safety standard, BS EN 71. Delivery is free in the UK on orders over £25, which is easy to reach if you're doing a few stockings at once.
